Frequently Asked Questions
Honest answers about Local SEO, Google Maps ranking, GBP optimization, AEO, GEO, and how I work with USA businesses.
Local SEO Google Maps GBP Optimization AEO GEO Technical SEOLocal SEO Basics
What is Local SEO and why does my business need it?
+Local SEO helps your business show up when someone nearby searches for your service on Google. If you run a plumbing, roofing, HVAC, dental, or real estate business in the USA, your customers are searching on Google Maps every single day. Without Local SEO, they find your competitors instead of you. Every day without it is leads going to someone else in your city.
What is the Google Map Pack and why does it matter?
+The Map Pack is the top 3 Google Maps results that appear with a map when someone searches locally -- like "plumber near me" or "HVAC repair Kelowna." These 3 results get the majority of clicks from local searchers. If your business is not in the Map Pack, you are losing customers every day to whoever is. Getting into the Map Pack is the primary goal of Local SEO for most home service businesses.
How is Local SEO different from regular SEO?
+Regular SEO targets broad national or global search results. Local SEO targets people searching in a specific city or service area -- "dentist in Phoenix" or "roofer near me." Local SEO uses Google Business Profile optimization, local citations, Map Pack ranking strategies, and location-specific content to get your business found in your exact market. The tactics, tools, and ranking signals are different from traditional SEO.
What local business niches do you specialize in?
+I work exclusively with local USA service businesses. My primary niches are:
- Real estate investors and cash home buyers
- HVAC contractors (USA and Canada)
- Plumbers and plumbing companies
- Roofers and roofing contractors
- Painters and painting companies
- Electricians and electrical contractors
- Pest control companies
- General contractors and home service businesses
- Dental practices and healthcare providers
- Franchise consultants and business advisors
If your business serves a local area and needs more customers from Google, I can help.
Google Business Profile (GBP)
What is a Google Business Profile and do I really need one?
+A Google Business Profile (GBP) is your free business listing on Google. It controls how you appear on Google Maps, in the Map Pack, and in Google Search. Without one, you are completely invisible to local searchers. With a fully optimized GBP, you can rank in the top 3 Google Maps results for your city without paying for ads. It is the single most important local SEO asset you have -- and it is completely free.
My GBP is already set up. Do I still need optimization?
+Almost always yes. Most businesses set up a basic GBP and never touch it again -- that is leaving a huge opportunity on the table. A fully optimized GBP includes complete service descriptions with target keywords, correct primary and secondary categories, relevant attributes, regular GBP posts, geo-tagged photos, Q&A optimization, a review generation strategy, and accurate service areas. The difference between a basic and a fully optimized GBP is often the difference between page 2 and the Map Pack.
What GBP optimization work do you do exactly?
+My GBP optimization covers everything that impacts Map Pack rankings:
- Category selection and attribute optimization
- Business description rewrite with local keywords
- Service and product listings with keyword-rich descriptions
- Geo-tagged photo upload strategy
- GBP posts schedule and content
- Q&A section seeding with high-intent questions
- Review response strategy and generation guidance
- Service area and coverage radius optimization
- GBP spam fighting for competitive niches
Will you need access to my Google Business Profile?
+Yes -- I need Manager access to optimize your GBP properly. I will guide you step by step on how to grant access safely. You always remain the Owner of your profile. Your account stays under your full control at all times. I never ask for Owner-level access.
Results and Timelines
How long does it take to see results from Local SEO?
+It depends on your market, current GBP status, competition level, and how many local ranking signals are already in place. In my Yakima WA case study, a real estate investor reached Google Maps position 1 in 28 days for a keyword with 54.52% difficulty. However, most markets take 2 to 3 months for consistent Map Pack visibility. I will always give you a realistic timeline based on your specific situation before we start -- never a promise I cannot back up.
Case study: Position 20 to #1 in 28 days -- Yakima WADo you guarantee number 1 rankings on Google?
+No -- and anyone who does is lying to you. Google's algorithm is outside anyone's control. What I guarantee is professional, proven work with full transparency and honest reporting. My goal is always top Map Pack visibility for your target keywords. But I will never promise a specific position I cannot guarantee. Honest results over fake promises -- always.
What results can I realistically expect?
+With consistent, focused Local SEO work you can realistically expect improved Google Maps visibility, stronger Map Pack presence, more calls and leads from Google, and visibility in Google AI search results. The timeline and scale depend on your market competition. I always do a free audit first so you know exactly what is achievable before committing to any work.
Technical SEO and On-Page SEO
What does a technical SEO audit cover?
+A technical SEO audit checks everything that affects how Google crawls, indexes, and ranks your site. My audits cover:
- Crawlability and indexation issues
- Site speed and Core Web Vitals
- Mobile usability and responsive design
- Broken links and redirect chains
- Duplicate content and canonical issues
- Schema markup and structured data
- XML sitemap and robots.txt
- Internal linking structure
- HTTPS and security issues
What is on-page SEO and why does it matter for local businesses?
+On-page SEO is the optimization of individual web pages -- title tags, meta descriptions, headings, content, internal links, and schema markup. For local businesses, strong on-page SEO on your service pages and location pages directly supports your Google Maps rankings. A well-optimized local landing page tells Google exactly what you do, where you do it, and who you serve -- which is what pushes you into the Map Pack.
Do you build local landing pages?
+Yes. Local landing pages are one of the most powerful tools for expanding your Google Maps ranking beyond your primary city. I create geo-targeted service pages optimized for specific cities and service areas -- with LocalBusiness schema, location-specific content, keyword-optimized headings, and internal linking. These pages directly support GBP rankings and help you rank in multiple cities.
Citation Building and Link Building
What are local citations and why do they matter?
+Local citations are mentions of your business name, address, and phone number (NAP) on directories, review sites, and local platforms -- like Yelp, Yellow Pages, BBB, and industry-specific directories. Consistent citations across the web tell Google your business is legitimate and located where you say it is. Citation inconsistency is one of the most common reasons local businesses fail to rank in the Map Pack. I build and clean citations to make sure your NAP data is accurate everywhere Google looks.
What kind of link building do you do for local businesses?
+I focus exclusively on white hat link building strategies that are safe and sustainable. For local businesses this includes local business directory submissions, niche-relevant guest posting, local sponsorships and community mentions, journalist outreach (HARO style), and resource page link building. I never use private blog networks, link farms, or any technique that risks a Google penalty.
AEO and GEO -- AI Search Optimization
What is AEO and how is it different from SEO?
+AEO stands for Answer Engine Optimization. While traditional SEO targets Google's blue link results, AEO optimizes your content to appear as direct answers in Google's AI Overviews, featured snippets, People Also Ask boxes, and voice search results. AEO uses structured content, FAQ schema, speakable schema, and question-based content to position your business as the authoritative answer to the questions your customers are asking.
What is GEO optimization and do I need it in 2026?
+GEO stands for Generative Engine Optimization. In 2026, AI tools like Google AI Mode, ChatGPT, Perplexity, and Google AI Overviews are answering local search questions directly -- recommending specific businesses by name. GEO ensures your business gets cited and recommended by these AI tools, not just ranked in traditional Google results. It is the next layer of local visibility and most businesses have no strategy for it yet.
Real result: Sweet Property Solutions LLC recommended by Google AI Mode as a Top Cash Buyer in Yakima ValleyIs traditional SEO still worth it in 2026 with AI search growing?
+Absolutely yes. Google still drives far more traffic than all AI tools combined. The smart approach in 2026 is both: traditional Local SEO for Google Maps and organic rankings, plus AEO and GEO optimization for AI search visibility. Businesses that build both will dominate their local markets. Businesses that ignore AI search will fall behind over the next 2 to 3 years.
Working Together
Do I need a website to get started with Local SEO?
+No. A fully optimized Google Business Profile alone can get you into the Map Pack and drive calls from Google. However, having a website significantly strengthens your Local SEO and gives you much more ranking power. If you do not have a website, I will advise you on the best next step after your free audit.
Where are you based and do you work with international clients?
+I am based in Bangladesh and work exclusively with businesses in the USA and Canada. I have 12+ years of experience specifically in the North American local search market. All client communication is in English and I work across USA timezones via email, LinkedIn, and scheduled calls through Calendly.
